The second edition of the Ultra-Trail® du Bout du Monde (#UTBdMGaspe2017) will take place from September 22 to 24, 2017, on the forest trails of Forillon National Park, in Gaspé (Quebec). This prestigious trail race is supported by the expertise of Land’s End Racing Canada who have already completed six events in the Gaspésie over the past four years. The 10 to 135 km trails on the International Appalachian Trail (IAT) will take place with the autumn colors overlooking the sea. ULTRA-TRAIL® AT LAND’S END

The Ultra-Trail® du Bout du Monde, in partnership with Parks Canada, is an experience that allows runners of all levels to experience breathtaking and unique mountain and sea landscapes in Canada. The UTBdM was created by trail runners and was set up by the organizers of the very popular Canadian Festival Skyrunning and the Ultra-Trail® of Mont-Albert (UTMA) in the Gaspésie National Park.

A total of 300 runners are expected in Forillon National Park. “We are honored to be working with the Parks Canada team to further develop this world-class experience in high-level trail racing. The runners come from everywhere to challenge on these high mountains and these very technical rugged terrain, which is the essence of the discipline,” explained Race Director Roxanne Tanase-Mason

 

DESCRIPTION OF RACES

The Ultra-Trail® du Bout du Monde (UTBdM) is composed of seven (7) extraordinary races, in the unique environment of Forillon National Park, in Gaspé:

  1. The Forillon Children’s 800 meters;
  2. Forillon 3 km Family Run;
  3. The Mont St-Alban 10 km, along the Gaspé Bay coastline;
  4. The Trail of Mont St-Alban, a 22 km loop of Mont Saint-Alban until “Bout du monde”;
  5. The 35 km Trail du Bout du Monde – Frotti Frotta (Les Crêtes and Les Lacs trails), until “Bout du monde”;
  6. The Ultra-Trail du Bout du Monde – Enduro Force, 53 km with 2,374 meters of positive drop, departure from Rivière-au-Renard to the trails of Les Lacs and Les Crêtes trails;
  7. New for 2017 The Ultra-Trail du Bout du Monde the Mi’kmaq blessed Mesgil’g muin (The great bear) , 110 km!
